3 part question?
3 part question?
I have like 60 GB of music and quicken files that I store on my desktop and have backup on my WD Passport. I'm buying a laptop for a long trip and want to be able to access my files and have everything like at home (or close to it) So can I just hook up my WD Passport to new laptop and upload files (esp. Quicken)?
2nd Question- I have A program DVD-X copy on my desktop, I lost the program disk. Anyway of Making copy to put on laptop? Or Do I have to buy new?
3rd- Want new laptop. Being that I am burning and ripping and light business files, should I opt for the Windows XP Media Center? or XP PRO/Home?
What type of processor is best. I like to multi-task when I get on this thing. Such as 2 page surfing, and working on quicken.

Company went out of business and it doesn't work worth a crap with new movies, go to http://www.dvdidle.com and download the trial of DVDFab Platinum, use the Platinum Express mode, works perfect EVERY TIME.

Media Center is XP HOME with the OEM Media Center upgrade, go with it, it has alot of nice features.

With a Laptop, make sure you get a dedicated video card not integrated...with 1 gig of memory in the system and as much as you can afford with the video. Try to jump up to no less than 2ghs in processing speed.
NOTE: If you can't afford a laptop with a dedicated video card make sure it has a ATI integrated video system....then make sure you buy no less than 1 gig of memory so that you can dedicate 128 megs of it to your video and use the rest for the system.
Hope this helps.
