megawampum: Question 1: B 37,000 decrease. The question is, what are the net cash flows from FINANCING activies. There are 4 of these activities.
Issue long-term note = +10,000
Issue Common Stock = +5,000
Cash Dividends = -2,000
Bonds Retirement = -50,000
Net Cash Flow from Financing Activities = -37,000
Question 2: A Selling Price (Proceeds). In fact, on the cash flow statement it would be listed as "Proceeds from the sale of long-term assets". Doesn't matter whether the assets were sold for a profit or loss. The cash flow statement wants to know what the cash inflow was, and in this case it is the proceeds from the selling price.
