What is the difference between jobs and customers in Quickbooks?
I have a question. My boss has always used the customer name as the job number then a space, then the last name.
I'm new here and I'd like to move to entering it in as the customer name and add jobs under it as we go with the job number space last name so they are easier to find.
I can't think of really any problems with doing this but I've never used "jobs" in my other business. I just used customer names. How will this impact reports or accounting?
Thanks!!
Chris

Pennywise: Customers are generally the company name. Jobs are particular business services you are providing for the customer.
