A question about automating quicken!?
Is there a way in quicken 2008 to be able to have a certain ammount paid to a certain category based on another category?
I have a category called "his salary", this is my income. Whenever I put in a transaction with the category "his salary" i would like a certain percentage to be paid to another category. Rather than me having to put in this transaction every time I input my income

Now what you will do is when you enter your income, just edit the memorized transaction split line to the amount you want instead of the fixed amount.
That isn't exactly what you are trying to because it doesn't work off a percentage, but I think that's as close as you can get in Quicken.
