How exactly does a checking account work with a debit card??? Should I open a checking account if I just want to use a debit card.? Do i get charged for useing a debit card? lets say I take money out of an paypal account and put money from a paypal into a debit card will it go in my checking accout , in my debit card or both? I dont want to write checks, just use a debit card (Im not planning to open a savings account yet) please inform me thank you.

Cheliebean: A debit card is the same as writing a check, just with a card. So yes, when you put money from a paypal account into the account tied to your debit card, it goes to your checking account because your checking account and your debit card are the same account.

The checking account and debit card are not two separate things. You use the debit card to access funds from the checking account.
You do not have to write checks. But don't forget, if you go overdrawn, even a penny - there are a lot of fees.
